Monday September 27, it was announced that Blackstone is selling the Cosmopolitan for $5.65 billion, nearly $4 billion more than its purchase price. As part of the deal, MGM Resorts International will acquire the Cosmopolitan’s operations side for more than $1.6 billion, while several entities, including Blackstone, will own the real estate and collect rent from the new operator. “Over the past few years, we have built an incredible brand and company culture at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, predicated on being a leader in the market and an innovator within our industry,” says McBeath. “From day one, it has always been about the brand and brand experience focused on both our employees and our guests. Since arriving in Sin City in 1967, Wynn has worked for education reform. “I was concerned because we had the highest dropout rate in the country, and could not understand how that was possible in a state that seemed to be flourishing [with] lots of resources and lots of glamour,” she says. In between her social work, which would earn her a position as chair of Communities and Schools of Nevada, Wynn also helped reshape the city’s image as a seedy Babylon to that of a cultural destination by stocking her hotels with world-class art.

At the Bellagio, Wynn commissioned Dale Chihuly’s career-defining glass sculpture Fiori di Como, which now hangs in the lobby. “We went over to Dale’s house where he had put a glass art installation at the bottom of his lap pool,” says Wynn. “And I said to him, ‘I want that in my ceiling in the Bellagio lobby.’ So that’s how we got that.”

As a member of the board at LACMA, Wynn now plays a critical role in bringing art to the masses. In 2016, she pledged $50 million to the museum’s forthcoming, $600 million dollar addition — the oblong-shaped David Geffen Studio designed by Swiss Pritzker Award–winning starchitect Peter Zumthor. “This is [Zumthor’s] first buildings in America,” she says. “He’s very, very rare and very elegant.” With homes in Idaho, Beverly Hills, New York and Miami, Wynn has plenty of space to house her own growing art collection. Last year, in her first major acquisition since her divorce, she bid $142.4 million on Francis Bacon’s Three Studies of Lucian Freud. The gambit paid off; today, the triptych hangs in her Beverly Hills lobby—up the way from where the David Geffen Studio will be unveiled in 2023.

The acquisition represents what Wynn calls a “golden” chapter in her life—defined by independence and advocacy. “It was extraordinarily creative and fun to build companies and build communities,” she says. “And now, what’s most satisfying is giving back and focusing not on you, but on others.” Following yesterday’s settlement in the six-year legal tussle with her embattled ex-husband, it seems Wynn is continuing to hold onto what’s golden.

But today, Christie, who’s now MGM Resorts International’s president of events and nightlife, is setting the night to music in a more intimate and retro way at The Mayfair Supper Club.

The new 10,000-square-foot Bellagio hot spot, where A-listers like Leona Lewis, Shaun White, and Nina Dobrev rang in the new year, is redefining the idea of dinner and a show in Vegas. Guests at the venue can eat chef Wesley Holton’s wagyu caviar rolls, truffle fettuccine, and lobster thermidor while enjoying live music and immersive productions created by Dennis Jauch, Kim Willecke, and Phil Shaw of No Ceilings Entertainment (which has worked on TV shows like America’s Got Talent and The X Factor). At any given moment, you might see a dozen performers onstage, with support from The Mayfair Jazz Trio.

The scene evolves from Prohibition-era jazz club to late-night dance party as the revelry progresses; one member of the creative team is choreographer Dana Foglia, whose credits include Beyoncé’s “Formation” video. There’s also a backdrop with no rival: the Bellagio Fountains.

“People come to Vegas for experiences they can’t get in their hometown,” Christie says. “If you see Mayfair, you’ll see that this is something that’s unmatched in America. You can’t get the combination of great entertainment and world-class food, beverage, and design in the best location elsewhere. It’s the 50-yard line of the Strip, overlooking the fountains.”

Christie and MGM Resorts chief hospitality officer Ari Kastrati visited stylish members-only London club Annabel’s and were “blown away by the design,” so they tapped Annabel’s designer Martin Brudnizki to work on The Mayfair Supper Club. Christie and Kastrati also found inspiration at Ibiza’s Lio, a hybrid restaurant, club, and cabaret venue.

“It wasn’t about doing Lio,” Christie says of Mayfair. “It was about how the environment was all-encompassing and a place where you could have a really good dinner and a really good cocktail and really good entertainment. We started working on how we can take this DNA and also look backwards at the glamorous supper clubs and lounges of the Las Vegas past.”

They also considered the locale on Bellagio’s man-made waterfront. The result is a transporting space that includes a sea-green Murano glass canopy, coral-inspired lighting, and a ceramic shell wall. It’s a place where Christie would love for guests to spend an entire evening. One tagline for Mayfair is “Dinner is just the beginning,” meaning that if you’re having a wonderful time, there’s no reason to go somewhere else.

“Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world,” Christie says. “There’s always going to be room for DJs, but there was an oversaturation of the marketplace. People want other things. There’s no need to build more giant big-box nightclubs.”

Fittingly, at the Park MGM resort that was unveiled in 2018, Christie is working with L.A. operators like Hollywood scene-makers Mark and Jonnie Houston, street food titan Roy Choi, and mezcal queen Bricia Lopez to create more intimate experiences.

The entrance to the Houston brothers’ On The Record speakeasy is through a two-story record store. Once inside, highlights include karaoke rooms and a Vinyl Parlor with high-profile guest bartenders. To get into Choi’s Best Friend restaurant, you pass through a neon-lit room that resembles a liquor store in L.A.’s Koreatown. Then you can feast on Korean barbecue and fierce, funky stews while a DJ plays.

At both On The Record and Best Friend, there’s a surprising wow factor before you even sit down at a table. Just walking in is an energizing experience. “There’s a nontraditional experience, and you’re visually stimulated,” Christie says. “Best Friend is born out of Roy’s brain and blood, sweat, and tears. What I learned from Roy is how to do wow in a different way. It’s the same with Jonnie and Mark. They’re known for their entrances. There’s that first moment of surprise and intrigue.”

Another way that nightlife has shifted in Vegas involves the integration of bold and exciting food. (“Twenty years ago, it might have been a bag of popcorn,” Christie says.) You’ll find this commitment to flavor-packed cuisine at Park MGM inside both Best Friend and Lopez’s Mama Rabbit lounge. At Mama Rabbit, an extensive collection of mezcal and tequila can be paired with carne asada tacos, queso fundido, or guacamole. Christie knows it’s important for Mama Rabbit’s food and cocktails to be a reflection of Lopez’s Oaxacan roots.

“Bricia educated me about her upbringing and culture and why we should be more progressive about the food,” Christie says. But you can also come by Mama Rabbit to play blackjack or see live music.

“People want the things they know and are comfortable with, but people also travel more now and have access to things visually via social media,” Christie says. “People are expecting more. It’s about experiential places and experiential dining, served up in different ways.”

The walk-out balconies, with vistas of the city’s skyline and surrounding mountains, are an ideal perch for watching the sun set—or rise, as the case may be.

The private El Cortez suite—which casino mogul and former owner Jackie Gaughan lived in for nearly 35 years—is now welcoming its very first guests following a necessary facelift. “It has never before been available to the public, and we wanted to honor Jackie’s legacy by keeping the look and feel of the space,” says El Cortez’s executive manager and partner, Alexandra Epstein Gudai. “The kitchen retains its retro microwave and fridge, and the inlaid carpeting and blush pink upholstered walls are original.” The singular space is available by application only. Prices are seasonal.

What to Do:

People flock to Sin City for many things, but healthy living has rarely been one of them—until now. “I’ve lived in Vegas almost 29 years,” says Shannon McBeath, co-founder of the city’s hottest new cycling studio, The Ride. “It’s always been my dream to open the high-end fitness studio I feel Vegas deserves.” McBeath says the idea was born from visiting her daughter in L.A., and taking business trips to New York with her husband, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas CEO Bill McBeath, where she made a point of doing her research. “I would seek out the greatest fitness studios,” she says. Many spin classes later, The Ride—which McBeath opened with partners Mark Cornelsen and
Milo Miloscia—is a studio worthy of its high-rolling locale. The luxurious 4,400-square-foot facility is centered around a semicircular cycling theater furnished with state-of-the-art Stages SC3 bikes arranged stadium-style in three levels. The party-while-you-perspire vibe is enhanced by a sound system by Frankie Desjardins (the technician behind Celine Dion’s Vegas show) and high-tech lighting from Ronen Mintz (of the Electric Daisy Carnival and Life Is Beautiful music festivals). McBeath, a longtime philanthropist, also opens the doors of her studio to local charities. “Every four to six weeks, we let a charity fill the room,” she says. “To me, getting the community involved is the best part of what I do.” We’ll pedal to that!

Las Vegas has never lacked for live entertainment, but since The Smith Center opened five years ago, there’s been more of a very specific variety. “People often say that Broadway is the longest street in America,” says The Smith’s president and CEO Myron Martin, “and now it runs through Las Vegas.” Martin, whose $470 million performance center has already staged nearly 2,000 Broadway shows, opens the 2017–18 season with Something Rotten, running August 8–13, and concludes it with Hamilton, May 29–June 3, 2018. “We go out of our way to get shows that will resonate with our audiences,” he says. The 20th anniversary of Rent and the revival of The Color Purple are the two Martin says he’s most looking forward to in the months ahead.

What was the inspiration to launch a vodka?

There’s nothing quite like the excitement you feel when you arrive in Las Vegas. Our inspiration behind Vegas Baby Vodka was to capture that spirit in a bottle.

What makes it special?

We tested dozens of vodkas and eventually landed on a corn vodka with a smooth and neutral flavor. Vegas Baby Vodka is distilled using a column still and filtered through a charcoal filter for an ultra-smooth finish. Our vodka has a touch of sweetness from the corn, which brings out the flavors of any cocktail.

How do you like to drink it?

During quarantine, we’ve had the opportunity and the time to experiment with several recipes using ingredients that we found in our pantry. One of our favorites is what we call Mama Amour, which includes Vegas Baby Vodka, prosecco and grapefruit juice. It’s refreshing and delish!

How did being in Las Vegas and having such a large footprint make you think differently?

Here, we embraced the architecture of the space by dividing it into distinct zones that feel intimate despite the size of the overall space. As you enter, there’s a take-away area with our custom salmon-pink coffee cart, which leads to café seating along the windows. Up on the second level, the lounge area features a bar and sexy serpentine emerald velvet sofas, while the surrounding dining areas offer large banquettes and curtains to help soften the space. Sadelle’s is open 18 hours a day, seven days a week.

Did the idea of this being a true all-day restaurant influence the design?

We looked to the classic grand cafes of Belle Époque Paris, which perfected the transition from day to night with versatile furnishings and great lighting. With multiple seating areas that range from bistro-style two-tops to large upholstered banquettes, the restaurant can accommodate anything from a quick breakfast on the go to a large seated private dinner and everything in between.

In Las Vegas, everything is over the top and celebratory. What are your favorite examples of how the design at Sadelle’s embraces this idea?

This is a celebration of materials and color—an amped-up version of the palette at the original SoHo location. We were inspired in part by the vibrancy of Vegas but also by the incredible light within the space. We wanted to use colors that wouldn’t wash out and would feel sophisticated from morning to night so we started with ocean blue, chive green and rosy salmon pink and layered in a range of luxurious textures like herringbone wood and inlaid stone floors, velvet upholstery, fringed drapery and polished oak with brass details.

What makes Bellagio such a good location for Sadelle’s?

The Bellagio was the first to redefine luxury in Las Vegas, with its commitment to impeccable design and personalized service. The Sadelle’s experience—from the seafood towers to the many custom details we created—is perfectly aligned with that ideal of meaningful luxury.

It is his work in Sin City however that has given us some of his most inspiring creations, with projects like the provençal château-inspired lobby at the Park MGM. Its stunning treescape vistas painted across folding screens stationed behind the front desks and the intricately laced branches that hang from the ceiling in a labyrinthine cluster that make everyone that steps into the space feel like they have been transported into a Guillermo del Toro film are true showcases of his talent. Brudnizki’s greatest skill is the ability to merge the traditional with the fantastical into a seamless amalgamation that is uniquely his vision. Speaking on his work in the city he says, “Las Vegas is very unique, with a history that has inspired millions of people. It is the epitome of fun; everyone comes to Vegas to have the best time so we always want to create interiors that encourage this emotion whilst remaining elegant, timeless, and glamorous.”

No such location represents this idea more than his work at the restaurant Bavette’s. With its dark richly appointed red velvet seating, stain glass lamps, and timber accents, the space at once feels like stepping through to a bygone era but with enough modernity, and uniqueness to keep the interior feeling timely. With so many show-stopping venues under his belt what really makes Brudnizki succeed in the competitive world of design is his ability to tell a story with his interiors. He says about the process, “We work very closely with the client from inception to completion, ensuring we work to their needs. We will first come up with a design narrative that effortlessly wraps up wants and desires whilst also making the space work on a business level. We are meticulous in detail and will have prototypes made for each element; everything is tested for comfort and functionality before being signed off by the client. It’s very collaborative.”

This ease with clients and ability to create such memorable spaces has led to his most exciting project yet: a new space opening this winter called the Mayfair Supper Club in the Bellagio hotel. Brudnizki says the space will keep the “glamorous spirit of old Las Vegas in mind, combined with the narrative of mythical stories and tales of the sea. The result is a space that is richly designed, with many layers that entice and cocoon its guests.” If it is anything like Brudnizki’s other spaces, we can guarantee that people will be flocking to the venue for years to come.

Delmonico is celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s sophisticated enterprise, with vaulted ceilings, a baby grand piano, and a killer whiskey selection. It’s a hit with conventioneers who return time after time for a well-prepared steak, but longtime fans know that it’s really a New Orleans–flavored restaurant masquerading as a steak house.

“Delmonico has found a balance between staying on top of trends and incorporating seasonal dishes,” Rainwater says, “while remaining true to—and offering most of—the items we have featured on the menu since we opened.”

In a town known for continuous change, where executives flit from new resort to new resort, it’s rare to find someone who has been dedicated to one space for nearly her entire career. Crampton began when The Forum Shops did, in 1992, as director of marketing, and she has helped build it into one of the most sought-after shopping destinations on the Strip. Over her near-30-year career, she has overseen two massive expansions (one featured one of the world’s only spiral escalators) and brought in many Las Vegas firsts, including flagship stores for Versace, Louis Vuitton, Armani, and Jimmy Choo. She’ll collaborate with teams to work on everything from the interior design of common-area seating to coordination of advertising and public relations between the property and the shops, luring in new-to-market boutiques that want to make Las Vegas their home and ensuring that the shops themselves all work together in harmony. “The science behind a winning tenant mix is vital and requires dedication,” she explains. “We want to make certain we have a good balance that appeals to a broad audience. In that way, we also look for brands that complement one another.”

That work results in a kind of feng shui and a good flow through the space, which, at 683,000 square feet with a mazelike layout, can feel overwhelming without the right touches to guide you. “Guests love the ambience and attention to detail. The shopping center has created a true sense of both comfort and excitement at the same time,” Crampton says.

Over the years, demographics such as the average shopper’s age or place of origin may change, but certain constants remain: They are a brand-conscious, educated, and informed clientele, and it’s part of Crampton’s job to ensure they all find what they are looking for. Some 22 million people pass through the vast shopping center annually, with 80 percent of them tourists hailing from countries all over the world, including Japan, China, the UK, and Brazil. Throughout the mall, more than 25 languages are spoken to meet global guests’ needs. “Our customers still enjoy the thrill of a purchase,” Crampton notes, and “they want to be able to qualify their visit to Las Vegas with some type of ‘trophy’—something that they can take away and return to their hometown or country that speaks to their vacation experience.”

Gray, a freelance writer, was the longtime Vegas correspondent for People Magazine, as well as Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, while Sheckells is the same for The Hollywood Reporter and has also served as editor for various local lifestyle mags, including Vegas Seven, 944, and Vegas Rated. “We talk a lot about insider baseball. We talk a lot about what it’s like to be on red carpets; we give people a look into that life. It’s not always glamorous,” admits Sheckells. But when the pair dishes on what’s happening around town, or what it’s like at some of these crazy parties, it’s hard to imagine otherwise.

Their second episode broke the news that country star Eric Paslay was having a new baby. In another episode, TJ Lavin revealed he almost drowned while filming his MTV show The Challenge. Between red carpet talk and celebrity reveals, the series also includes a wide range of guests offering their own insights on what makes Vegas tick. “We’ll have a casino executive one week, and then we’ll have a politician another day doing a food review for us,” Sheckells says. “We have really eclectic tastes of what people bring to the table.”

It initially began as an inside joke between the two, who through the years found themselves working side by side on red carpets. Often, they would team up to interview various stars together. “Those ended up being some of the most fun interviews of the evening,” recalls Gray, “because Melinda and I would just go back and forth with the celebrities. We realized that we sounded basically like a radio show.”

Their easy and fun dynamic plays well on air, with Sheckells doing many of the avant-garde tasks, such as getting done up in the style of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE to celebrate what would have been Jackson’s 60th birthday. Gray, who writes the script each week, plays the straight man to Sheckells’s creative whims. “Mark is kind of like my reality check. I need someone to tell me when it’s gone too far,” Sheckells laughs.

“Melinda is who takes the show to another dimension,” Gray says. “She’s the one people will be talking about after the show is over at 6 p.m.”

When he came onboard with Caesars, the company was riding high with Celine Dion and Elton John emblazoned on the marquee of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. By the time 2013 rolled around, and visitors began skewing younger, he asked, “What if we were to introduce the first pop residency in Las Vegas?” Soon, he had his sights set on their next big act: Britney Spears. “Like when they were first bringing Celine to the market, there was some skepticism: would it work?” he admits. Competing with traditional nightclubs for younger crowds would be a gamble, so he had to find a star who could draw them in. “Britney was a really exciting choice for that.”

Her blockbuster four-year run proved him right. Then came J. Lo, Backstreet Boys and Mariah, among others, each with their own brands of high-energy performances. And being able to rattle off most of these resident headliners without mentioning full names is totally by design. “The first screen is ‘can they go by one name?’” he says, laughing. Combine that with a vast catalog of hits and a global fan base, and you’ve got a pretty short list of candidates whom Gastwirth and Caesars would like to showcase in the future.

Yet musical acts aren’t the only cards he is ready to play. Banking on younger audiences who are looking for more than just the same-old Vegas experience, his team recently announced a residency for Nitro Circus, an extreme sports production slated to open early 2019 at Bally’s. Headed up by daredevil Travis Pastrana, who this summer recreated Evel Knievel’s famous jump over the Caesars Palace fountains, the BMX and motocross show sets up shop in the same theater that once housed another iconic Vegas show, Jubilee, that ran there for more than 30 years. “Our focus is on shows that might be a bit more immersive and interactive versus a traditional Broadway show,” Gastwirth says. “We’re making history here.”

Cup of Joe: Europeans are particular about their coffee, and Leoné Café at Tivoli Village reminds me of home. It is also in Summerlin and a local’s favorite.

Power Lunch: I have lunch at Terrace Pointe Café at Wynn almost every day, where they make me my own signature salad with grilled chicken, tomatoes, avocado, asparagus and quinoa. They keep me healthy! Overlooking the pool and gardens, it is very relaxed, yet refined. It makes business feel like vacation.

Retail Therapy: I’m French, so my wife and I are both very into fashion. One of our favorites is Fashion Show Mall, where Neiman Marcus and Saks both have incredible collections. The mall also has several smaller boutiques where I like to shop. It’s just across the street from Wynn, so whenever I’m in the mood for something new, it is very convenient.

Hidden Gem: Ask any local and they will tell you that Vintner Grill is one of the best restaurants in town. Located in Summerlin where it’s hidden in a business complex, it’s easy to miss, but once inside the dining room and patio are stunning. Plus, the food is fantastic—try the half-chicken with mac and cheese.

Power Lunch: I’m not awesome at stopping for lunch, but if I’m with the team, we hit up In-N-Out or get a slice at Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan. For more of a “grownup” lunch, I’ve fallen hard for Milos—quick, super tasty and easy. If I’m being super indulgent, I go for Lotus of Siam.

Cocktail Hour: If I have to go outside the Momofuku family, Frankie’s Tiki Room can be pretty epic for the right cocktail-hour guests. For a shot, a beer and a game of Pac-Man, ReBAR.

Retail Therapy: Patina Decor. I get lost and somehow convince myself I need the most ridiculous winter hat in the dead of summer, or a dining room set for an apartment too small to even house it!

Field Trip: In Vegas, I’m up at 5 and in an Uber by 5:15 on my way to Red Rock Canyon. Being a New Yorker, I can’t resist starting my mornings outdoors in one of the most gorgeous parks just minutes away from work—and I’ve got to get ahead of the loads of cookies, cakes and pies I’ll inevitably consume in the kitchen.

Date Night: On the strip, Carbone in Aria will crush you with clever and fun old-school, new-school Italian food. For Vegas/Italian feels through a totally different lens, try Battista’s Hole in the Wall.

Don’t miss: The Neon Museum. It’s the best place to explore. I love checking out all the fonts and signs from Vegas past and present, and it reminds me of the pink neon signs hanging over the entrance of every Milk Bar location.

Hidden Gem: I love being a cheesy tourist, so Vegas Indoor Skydiving and also the roller coaster at New York New York are personal favorites.

Where do you tend to look for new pieces?

It changes. A lot of the inventory actually comes from EZ Pawn Corp. because we have to keep it authentic and that is the pawnshop; it reminds people that it’s a treasure hunt. I try to relay that thrill of finding things—I like to put a Cartier ring next to a costume ring because of that.

What’s the difference between a Beauty & Essex pawn shop and a more traditional shop?

Other than the beautiful décor and large presence of jewelry, the Beauty & Essex pawnshop has my seal of approval for the items that go out for sale. Putting my “bygoldgirl” seal of approval on things really makes the difference.

With a speakeasy so close to the inventory, you must get a few buzzed-shoppers…

We definitely get interesting shoppers, but what I love most are the customers who are looking to top-off their night. So if you’re going to Beauty & Essex to take in the amazing food, the scenery, the vibe, the atmosphere and then to top off a great night, for example, you buy your wife the beautiful ring she spotted on the way in. The icing on the cake of your night is making that purchase for her, and she always remembers the experience there. I love stories like that because where else can you do that? We’re open the same hours as the restaurant. We’ve had stories where guests will have pieces presented at tables for special occasions—we’ve had proposals.

What was your approach to curating the selection for the Vegas location?

With New York I came in after they had already opened, but with Vegas I feel much more connected. Rich Wolf and I picked out every single fixture, from the lights on the walls to the showcases. Everything has a Vegas twist; we have a lot of good luck charms, lot’s of “blingy” pieces for the winners at the casino, and then the usual eclectic mix of pieces that people love. We kept it true to form, there’s always something for everyone, but there is definitely a little more sparkle for Vegas.

Any exciting purchases recently?

It actually happened this past weekend at the Las Vegas opening. I can’t say her name, but a certain celebrity came into our store before it opened to kind of get a sneak peek. If you know us, then you know our mascot and good luck charm is a priceless Biggie Smalls action figure, and this celebrity came in and saw a bracelet hanging from the figurine and decided to buy it on the spot for their significant other.  It was a celebrity, but it’s the moments that excite me; it’s how pieces are found in this mish mosh of stuff that create something so special. It makes the jewelry come full circle.

The velvet, denim and linen backless shoes, all named after prominent women in Wynn’s life (including her chic mother Elaine), feature elegant designs that Wynn herself drew on fabric. 

“You know when you open Architectural Digest and they show you people’s homes?” Wynn says. “Those people are entertaining in their homes. And when they entertain, there are a lot of women like me who don’t want to wear outside shoes inside their homes with their beautiful fabrics, rugs and floors.”

The line started when Wynn, daughter of Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn, wanted to create slippers for herself and Zoe, now 11.

“She’s very much a fashionista, much more so than me,” says Wynn, who spent more than 15 years working for her father’s Mirage Resorts, eventually overseeing design and merchandising of private-label fashion and home products at the hotels. “I wanted to inspire her. The day we got all the samples back from Italy, she opened up the box and she put them all on the floor in front of the couch. We looked at each other, and they were so beautiful. We started high-fiving and dancing around the room.”

These slippers, in fact, are made for dancing, even on the biggest night of your life. 

“We have several pairs that would be perfect for a bride,” Wynn says. “When you’re dancing all night and your feet are killing you and you take off your heels, these are the perfect slippers to put on. They’re a mule and you just slip in and they’re soft and they’re not too high. But if you got photographed with these on, they’re still beautiful.”

Wynn is also working on after-golf slippers for women and a men’s line.

“My father has been dying for me to make him a pair,” Wynn says.

This new upscale housing inventory comes at a moment when Vegas real estate is hitting unseen heights. Over on the Strip, broker Kamran Zand of Luxury Estates International recently sold a 2,755- square-foot condo at The Residences at Mandarin Oriental for $3.4 million. That’s the highest price ever per square foot—$1,234—for a resale unit in the high-rise.

“The ultra-high-end market is doing great,” Zand says. “Mandarin Oriental is the most sought-after building in town. The location is excellent, in the heart of the Strip in CityCenter. You’re walking distance to the best shopping, world-class entertainment and fine dining, as well as the new Las Vegas arena—a big plus if we get NBA and hockey teams.”

Eighty-one guests enjoyed lunch catered by DW Bistro, a runway show of Mouret’s spring/summer 2015 collection and an opportunity to shop the collection alongside the designer—all with a beautiful desert backdrop.

“His design aesthetic isn’t like anyone else’s,” gushed Baldwin. “The way his clothing fits the body, there aren’t very many designers who design the way he does.”

Mouret, whose clothes have been worn by Amy Adams, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner and Claire Danes, said, “The focus is on a really fitted silhouette but in a more ethereal way.” Some of the key pieces shown included floral print tanks, starched white shorts, kimono dresses in color-blocked pastels and grass-green asymmetrical skirts. 

“This collection is like a bouquet to my customer,” said Mouret. Other bouquets—English Garden Florist’s classic and crisp white hydrangea arrangements—adorned each table.

A fashion show for ballet enthusiasts proved perfectly paired. “They’re both about movement,” Baldwin mused. “I think music, dance, theater, fashion and art naturally complement each other.”

The designer agreed. “Ballet challenges your eye and shows how the female form can evolve,” said Mouret, who’s opening his first freestanding store on New York’s Madison Avenue this month. “I think the balance of an outfit and the balance of a person in ballet is so singular.”

Yes, we have catwalks, stages, rain curtains, LED walls, lifts, projection mapping surfaces and so much more.

The opening of SHe is on New Year’s Eve. What kind of celebration can we expect?
Las Vegas is my favorite place to celebrate New Year’s. And SHe, with producer Jeff Kutash, has some surprises we will unveil upstairs in the nightclub.
