Maintaining a consistent workout routine at home can be an arduous task, and the uncertainties of travel make fitness an even more challenging mission. Luckily, there are hotels around the world that offer simple and (dare we say) fun solutions.
The James Hotels
This luxe accommodation’s Urban Wellness ReinventYOU program by ChaiseFitness is a streaming series consisting of four 20-minute workouts that allow guests to break a sweat from the comfort of their hotel rooms. ChaiseFitness will also be hosting its official outdoor Summer Series exclusively at The James New York. On designated Tuesdays each month, 45-minute ReinventYOU workout classes will be held on the hotel’s coveted rooftop. Or, if you’re looking for something more relaxing, it’ll offer rooftop Serene Social yoga classes complimentary for female guests on Thursdays at 8AM.
Westin Hotels
Forgot your workout gear? At Westin hotels, that’s no longer a problem. Their recent partnership with New Balance means that guests can use everything from running clothes to sneakers for a miniscule fee of $5. And with the RunWESTIN program, a running concierge leads guests on three- and five-mile routes past the city’s landmarks, so you never have to navigate a new city alone. Plus, each runner is welcomed back to the hotel with a fresh towel and cold bottled water. If indoor exercise if more your style, request a WestinWORKOUT ROOM instead of a standard suite. Each one is equipped with a treadmill, stationary bike, dumbbells, fitness DVDs, resistance bands and stability balls.
Trump Hotels
The Trump Wellness program, in partnership with Under Armour, offers footwear and apparel to guests who didn’t pack their own, not to mention a customized pre-loaded iPod Shuffle. In-room workout experiences are available as well, allowing guests to request yoga mats, stretch bands and weights through the Trump Attaché. Plus, TechnoGym exercise cards provide innovative suggested workouts for exercisers who crave a bit more direction.
Morgans Hotel Group
Guests visiting the Hudson, Royalton, Morgans, Mondrian Soho, Delano Mondrian and Shore Club in New York and Miami can now enjoy access to Equinox gyms. This includes personal training, group classes, strength and cardio training, Equinox apparel, spa services and products. The Semi-Automatic, Morgans Hotel Group’s luxury vending machines, will also debut The Equinox Limited Edition Derringer bicycle, available at Hudson and Mondrian South Beach.
Anywhere and Everywhere
Lift Digital is a new live, video-based platform that allows people to train one-on-one with top fitness professionals on the go. Whereas most exercise apps on the market are focused on removing personal trainers and gyms from the equation, Lift simply brings those elements to you. Sessions can be conducted from virtually anywhere via live streaming video through iPads and TVs. Users can work with trainers to create customized programs combining time and rep-based exercises and can use the app to track their workout history and statistics. In addition, Lift features an extensive video library of body weight movements focused on demonstrating proper techniques to assist users even when they’re not in session with a trainer.
