Guests who stay at Palazzo Avino often remark that the property feels like a private home in Southern Italy—which isn’t far from the truth. Located in the medieval town of Ravello, the property was once a 12th century villa for a family of Italian aristocrats. It was reborn as a hotel in 1997 but has maintained many elements that celebrate its rich history, including antiques and furniture that date back to the 18th century. The ornate décor is perhaps trumped by Palazzo Avino’s views: namely, the area’s charming fishing villages and vibrant Amalfi Coast. There are also an impressive number of culinary offerings on the property, including a Michelin-starred restaurant and a lobster and martini bar that opens in the evening. The spacious accommodations—32 rooms and 11 suites—are equally as remarkable. We asked Palazzo Avino’s Owner and Managing Director, Mariella Avino, for the details on the hotel’s most sought-after room.
