Only a brand as timeless as Tiffany & Co. could create a fresh, relevant collection of jewelry and gifts completely inspired by their own bygone designs. The aptly named Out of Retirement collection will be available on November 12 at Dover Street Market, the luxury retailer created by Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons and known for giving brands the space to experiment with creative specialty offerings.
Eight pieces of jewelry and ten gift items will be shown in installations inspired by legendary Tiffany window designer Gene Moore at Dover Street Market’s three locations—London, New York and Tokyo’s fashionable Ginza neighborhood. Each display will be unique to its location, with sculptural wood figures in New York, cast hands in London and Nymphenburg animals in Tokyo.
“The essence of Tiffany has always been about modernity and beautiful material—and these pieces feel just as contemporary today as they were when they were first made,” said Tiffany’s Design Director Francesca Amfitheatrof in a release. “They are rich with the charm and wit that are an intrinsic part of the company.”
The Out of Retirement holiday collection will be available at Dover Street Market from November 2015 – January 2016.
