At the Manta Resort on the Zanzibari island of Pemba, lucky patrons are having their deepest sleep yet—13 feet below the Indian Ocean.

The Underwater Room, a floating three-tiered suite designed by Swedish artist Mikael Genberg, includes a roof deck, a lounge area at sea level and a submerged master bedroom (accessible by ladder) boasting unparalleled views of exquisite coral and dozens of species of fish. The structure—anchored to the ocean floor—resides in the center of a blue hole, a circular clearing within the coral reef roughly 165 feet wide and 39 feet deep at high tide.

The in-demand room costs 1,500 for a one-night stay for two. Click through the gallery above and see stunning pictures of the innovative hotel room.
