Room Request! Trump Hotel Central Park

Check in to the most desired room at this luxurious NYC destination

The Trump Hotel Central Park occupies a prime Midtown West location at Columbus Circle in a 52-story high-rise building. With 176 suites and generously-sized guest rooms (a rarity for New York City hotels) featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, full kitchens and unobstructed Central Park views, this luxury property is well-suited for business travelers and vacationers alike. The hotel completed a $30 million renovation in 2010, giving a modern update to the Trump Spa and fitness center (which has a 55-foot heated indoor pool). On our recent stay, we enjoyed an Executive Park View suite on the 16th floor—a 950-square-foot suite with state-of-the-art amenities and plush furnishings. And with the aforementioned Trump Spa (get a deep-tissue massage with Tatiana!), plus the hotel’s three dining concepts (overseen by Jean-Georges Vongerichten), it’s tempting to never leave the property.

Below, the Trump Central Park’s general manager Suzie Mills tells us about the hotel’s most sought-after room.

The most requested room:

The deluxe room is typically the most requested room, however, the most requested suite is definitely the Executive Park View Suite.

What makes it so special:

It offers absolutely breathtaking views overlooking Central Park.

Celebrity guests:

Well, we would not have any more celebrities stay with us if I told you that! They come and stay with us because of the privacy that we give them and the small residential lobby which is only for hotel guests. Editors note: Katie Holmes, Aretha Franklin, Fergie and Steven Tyler have all been spotted at the property.

Your personal favorite:

My personal favorite is the two bedroom suite “00″ type.

Because…

It has a panoramic view overlooking Central Park and the East side of Manhattan. Ivanka Trump thoughtfully redecorated the hotel for its 2010 redesign. Her personal touches are evident throughout the suite’s décor. Each suite is adorned with a beautiful Schonbeck crystal chandelier, and the color palette of creams, aubergine and grays create a subdued backdrop to highlight the unsurpassable views of Central Park.

The rate:

The Executive Park View suites and the two bedroom Park View suites range from $1,500-3,000 per night.

Fun fact:

When the building was the Gulf & Western Building, the address was 15 Columbus Circle, but Mr. Trump changed it to One Central Park West as we are at the beginning of Central Park West. Also, the Brett Ratner film Tower Heist (starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller) was filmed at the building.
