Room Request! Dream Midtown

Inside a suite The Fat Jewish once called home

The Dream Midtown brings a decidedly downtown vibe to Manhattan’s “Gold Coast” on the corner of W 55th Street and Broadway. Situated in an 1895 Beaux-Arts flatiron building, the hotel’s multiple dining and event spaces radiate with the kind of energy that can only be found in the city that never sleeps. One special suite tucked away on the 11th floor offers something not often found in this fair city: privacy and space galore. The GuestHouse has 1,500 square feet, three bedrooms and major views of Columbus Circle. Social media sensation, Josh Ostrovsky aka The Fat Jewish, actually moved in for a spell last year.

Without further ado, the answers to why GuestHouse is the Dream’s dreamiest suite:

What is the most requested room?

 GuestHouse (Presidential Suite).

What makes it so special?

Located on the top floor of the hotel, the GuestHouse offers the best views of Midtown, and is the most exclusive option in the hotel. Many guests of the room stay for an extended period of time, and the spaciousness makes it easy to spread out and feel “at home” in the city. The 1,500-square-foot GuestHouse features three bedrooms with king-size beds, separate living areas, marble bathrooms and views of Columbus Circle. There’s also secret access to the rooftop PHD Terrace for VIPs to discreetly come and go from the party.

Presidential Bedroom

 What is the nightly rate?

Starting at $1,800 per night and up.

Have you had any celebrity guests?

Rumer Willis and Kevin Connolly attended the launch of FISHBOWL, a new underground bar on the property. Ramona Singer from Real Housewives of New York has frequented the hotel, along with Joss Stone, Alice Cooper, Jason Aldean, DJ Snake, Johnny Rzeznick, Lea Delaria, Blac Chyna and Eliza Dushku.

Fun facts?

There’s a two-story, 3,300-gallon exotic saltwater fish tank on the property, as well as four signature works by contemporary artist Domingo Zapata. The heart and intention behind Dream Midtown and its venues is to bring a renaissance to the neighborhood through a variety of food and beverage outlets, which all have a distinctly downtown vibe.

In addition to a complete mini bar, guest rooms include a “Mini Rickey” kit, including all the fixings for the signature cocktails available at the on-property cocktail lounge, The Rickey. The newest addition to the hotel is an underground bar and gaming parlor – FISHBOWL – complete with mini-bowling, skeeball, pool and more.
