London developers recently unveiled plans for a one-of-a-kind swimming pool suspended between two 10-story buildings, and it’s made completely out of glass.
The aquarium-like floating pool—the brainchild of Ballymore Group CEO Sean Mulryan and developed by Arup Associates—is completely structure-free and will allow residents at Embassy Gardens to swim from one building to the next. Aside from being able to take a midair dip, swimmers will also have unparalleled views of city landmarks, like the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. The development—estimated for completion by 2019—will also include a spa, summer bar and orangery on the sky deck.
“The Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering,” says Mulryan in a release. “The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London.”
