DryBar Moves Uptown

The blow-out only salon opens a new location on the Upper East Side

For her 24th salon opening—and 5th NYC location—DryBar founder Ali Webb chose to plant a flag on the Upper East Side. The tony zip code is the perfect location for the Los Angeles-based blow-out salon; surprisingly, no equivalent service existed in the area.

The new jewel box of a salon (on 74th Street just east of 2nd Avenue) is perfect for women dashing from the gym to a meeting or wanting an up-do for an event. Since Webb has been especially e-savvy in enabling all appointments to be booked through an online system, it’s super-easy to schedule a last-minute blow-dry. And if you’re waiting for a DryBar to open in a spot closer to you, please know that the company is expanding rapidly—in fact, a Tribeca location opens on December 28. “it’s overwhelming and humbling to have so many DryBars,” says hairstylist Webb, who opened her first location in Brentwood, California, in 2010. “I’m grateful that women continue to come to us.”
