Macallan Unveils Luxe M Black Release

The new single malt whisky is presented in a Lalique black crystal decanter and will retail for approximately $6,995

With the latest single malt whisky from Macallan comes a rich and complex profile and plenty of opulence, for those who are lucky enough to get their hands on it. In partnership with renowned creative director Fabien Baron and crystal masters Lalique, The Macallan M Black comes encased in one of the world’s most beautifully designed and meticulously handcrafted crystal decanters. With only 725 black crystal decanters worldwide, the exclusivity of M Black is obvious with just 40 decanters available to the United States. At approximately $6,995, there’s no doubting the grandeur and complex mastery of this collaboration.

M Black was crafted to truly reflect the diverse history of the Macallan single malt, a striking complement to a subtly smoky M Black. Geoff Kirk, Director of Prestige for The Macallan says, “Presented in an extraordinary handcrafted black crystal decanter, M Black reflects a lifetime of whisky and continues to showcase the vital influence of The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks and the ultimate craft of whisky making. M Black is a true work of art, which raises the bar for whisky decanters around the world.”

With the detailed research conducted, prototyping and experimentation, the development of the M Black decanter is a true adventure in structure, which matches the unique quality of the whisky itself. Fashioned in the highest-grade black crystal for the first time, each handcrafted decanter challenges the status quo for whisky and just reinforces the creative energy and thoughtfulness that was inserted into each M Black, all 725 of them.
