Luxury travelers seeking a thrilling trip are closer than ever to the ultimate adventure: heading into outer space. After three years of construction, Virgin Galactic revealed its brand new spaceship, named the VSS Unity by renowned physicist Stephen Hawking. The ship is a replacement for Virgin’s 2014 creation, which crashed that same year.
So far, more than 700 people already signed up to be on board for the spaceship’s first flight. For $250,000, passengers can snag a front seat ticket that will take them 50 miles above Earth’s surface, which officially qualifies them as “bona fide space tourists.” However, Virgin Galactic is making sure the ship undergoes plenty of testing, so the company hasn’t disclosed any future flight dates.

“Together, we can make space accessible in a way that has only been dreamt of before now, and by doing so can bring positive change to life on Earth,” Virgin Group founder Richard Branson said in a release. “Our beautiful new spaceship, VSS Unity, is the embodiment of that goal also great testament to what can be achieved when true teamwork, great skill and deep pride are combined with a common purpose.”
