Luxury can mean many things. When referring to a hotel suite in particular, it’s possible for the term to conjure images of sleek, modern, trendy decor or cutting edge amenities you would have never even thought of otherwise (think of Dream’s storied sneaker concierge).

The Presidential Suite and newly designed Penthouse are reserved by top guests, both royalty and celebrities, including Heads of State and overseas Dignitaries. Many of these leaders select the InterContinental New York Barclay because of our security and discretion. In respect to our guests’ privacy, we are unable to disclose this information.

What room or suite is your personal favorite?
For me, my favorite room is the Presidential Suite.
Why?
From 1926 to today, that room has hosted many remarkable guests, playing its own part in history. The hotel’s Presidential Suite has housed several US Commanders in Chief, including President Bill Clinton and more. From the suite’s marble grand entrance to the private library, this refined space is designed with traditional political dignitaries in mind. The stunning, white marble and golden accented bathroom–complete with a steam shower, freestanding tub and ample closet space–will make discerning travelers feel right at home. The Presidential Suite bathroom is also outfitted with an original InterContinental Barclay New York scent from Caswell-Massey, which has sold premium soaps and fragrances since 1752. The baby grand piano adds a final touch of luxury to this classic oasis.

Any fun facts about the hotel?
When Bill Clinton first ran for President, the Barclay was his New York Headquarters.
The hotel is one of the original railroad hotels of New York City, and even has a hidden pathway to Grand Central Station.
