The Most Beautiful Thing in the World Today: Portraits of Women

Peter Lindbergh’s new photo book captures timeless female beauty

Peter Lindbergh has photographed some of the world’s most legendary actresses, pop stars and supermodels over the course of his storied career—Madonna, Tina Turner and Kate Moss, to name a few—and at the age of 70, he’s still capturing iconic beauty behind a camera lens.

His collection of soft, black-and-white portraits and nude photographs of current female icons art the pages of his new book, Images of Women II: 2005-2014—the sequel to his 1997 hit Images of Women—and it’s nothing short of perfection. Among the famous faces included in the nearly 300-page hardcover (released this week) are Reese Witherspoon, Uma Thurman, Cara Delevingne and Monica Bellucci, as well as additional legends from the worlds of fashion, film and entertainment.
