Houston Pool Hopping

Find out where Texans swim in style

When Houston gets hot, Houston’s hottest get on a plane—or dive into a pool. If it’s the latter, there’s no place cooler than the Museum District’s Hotel ZaZa or The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, a posh private health and fitness club in the Galleria area. While a club membership comes with $25,000 price tag and monthly fees, The Houstonian lowers the velvet rope for hotel guests—free of charge. A stay comes with full access to a trio of temperature-controlled outdoor pools and the sprawling 125,000-square-foot club set on 18 acres.

At Hotel ZaZa, pictured above, the ZaSpa is always open to non-hotel guests, and anyone who’s booked a treatment is granted entry to the cabana-style pool for the day. “Poolside at Hotel ZaZa never fails to be an escape from the ordinary,” says Matthew Nuss, president of hotel operations for Z Resorts. Don’t sweat the heat index!
