“Most people don’t know about Dalton Trumbo, and it’s important to remind the world about the House Un-American Activities Committee,” the actor says of the film, which explores the titular screenwriter’s life on the blacklist. “I don’t think too many people realize the sacrifices that were made. In the culture of fear and paranoia of today’s politics, that seems to be the way the game is run. It’s nice to have a reminder of the upshot of what Dalton did.”
