The preeminent resort in Orange County, the Montage Laguna Beach sits on 30 picturesque acres of land overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Each of its 248 rooms and suites offer oceanfront views—though guests can also enjoy the stunning Southern California scenery from the Montage’s Mosaic pool (one of three on the property).
The hotel also has three restaurants to choose from: The Loft (for all-day dining in the main hotel building); Mosaic Bar & Grille, adjacent to the pool for more casual fare (like their signature “Mosaic Nachos”); and the high-end Studio restaurant on the main lawn—snag a table outside to see the adorable onsite bunnies roam the grass.
Rooms are well-appointed, and suites feature marble bathrooms, luxe décor and plush bedding—with heavenly mattresses that’ll entice you to cancel your scheduled wake up call.
Below, the Montage Laguna Beach’s Managing Director Rick Riess tells us about the most sought-after room on the property.
The most requested room:
Our bungalow suites are some of our most popular.
What makes it so special:
These 20 suites are secluded and closest to the ocean. They have the ambiance of a private beach house with a fireplace in the living area and French doors into the bedroom. They’re located on the south end of our resort, just steps away from the water, and perfect for large family or guests looking for a lot of space.
The rate:
Our bungalow suites during the summer months start at $2,295.
Your personal favorite:
We have recently renovated our Presidential Suite, the Catalina Suite, and it is stunning.
Because…
It offers sweeping ocean views the moment you enter, a balcony that spans the entire length of the suite, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. It’s also outfitted with touchscreen tablets that allow guests to browse resort offerings and control the lighting throughout the space.
Celebrity guests:
While we have had many, we respect the privacy of each of our guests and keep this information confidential.
Fun fact:
We have an eclectic range of Early California paintings, photographs, sculptures and ceramics featured prominently throughout the resort. Many of the works on display were commissioned by local Laguna Beach artists, creating a strong connection between Montage Laguna Beach and the surrounding community.
