With celebrity devotees like Lena Dunham and Lily Aldridge, organic meal delivery service Sakara Life has taken off like wildfire. Originally based just in New York, the plant-dense, nutrient-rich drinks, snacks and meals are now available on the West Coast and throughout the Hamptons. The brand’s two gorgeous founders, Danielle DuBoise and Whitney Tingle, spend a lot of their summers out East. Here, they share their favorite haunts with DuJour.
What do you love about visiting the Hamptons?
Whitney: “Disconnecting for a bit. That rejuvenated feeling you have after a weekend in the Hamptons is not just from getting out of the city for a few days, but from how good this change of pace is for your health. Fresh air, sunshine, connecting to the ground and nutritious, local foods do the body so much good.”
What is the best way to start your morning in the Hamptons?
Danielle: “Listen to the waves while sipping Sakara Beauty Water. There’s nothing more calming and rejuvenating!”
Favorite on-the-go lunch spot in the Hamptons?
Whitney: “La Fondita in Amagansett”
Danielle: “Round Swamp Farm”
What beauty products can’t you live without this summer?
Whitney: “Bee Yummy Skin Food”
Danielle: “Jiva Apoha Body Oils”
How do you practice beauty from the inside out?
Whitney: “Nourish your body with clean, whole foods. Plants have a lot of medicinal properties in them that hydrate, purify and plump your skin, so focus all of your beauty efforts on what you are putting into your body, not what you are putting on top.”
Where do you go to break a sweat?
Danielle: “SoulCycle and Physique57 are always good, reliable sweats!”
Best romantic date spot?
Whitney: “The Crow’s Nest in Montauk”
Danielle: “The beach. It doesn’t get much better than wine, fish tacos and a sunset.”
Whitney: “Bandier in Southampton”
Danielle: “The farm stands and the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack”
