Cindy Crawford Is Ready to Retire…Kind of

The legendary supermodel won’t be posing for the cameras anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be out of the spotlight

On February 20th Cindy Crawford will turn 50 (though ever the beauty icon, it’s impossible to tell) and she’d like to finally put an end to her modeling days.

“I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK. I’ve done it,” Crawford told United Hemispheres Magazine. “I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

Crawford’s decades-long career featured countless fashion highlights—from the legendary red Versace dress she wore to the 1991 Oscars to her powder blue Chanel bikini on the spring/summer 1996 runway. To no one’s surprise, Crawford won’t be leaving modeling without one last gig. She the face of Balmain’s spring ad campaign, where she will appear alongside fellow  ‘90s supermodels Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer.

Although her own modeling career will be coming to an end, there’s still her mini-me. Crawford’s 14-year-old daughter, Kaia, signed with IMG last June and appears to be following in her mom’s footsteps. She already shot spreads featured in Teen VogueInterview and CR Fashion Book. So it seems that the Crawford legacy will live on in some very capable (perfectly manicured) hands.
