Baccarat unveils a sparkling new NYC flagship on Madison Avenue

Last night in New York City, Baccarat unveiled an extraordinary 2,800 foot flagship store on Madison Avenue and hosted a champagne reception that also feted the brand’s 250th anniversary. The new boutique was designed by architect Rafael de Cárdenas, who broke away from his usual aesthetic of eye-popping hues and bold patterns and created a beautiful interior featuring Baccarat’s signature colors of gold and gray accented with dark wood panelling. The store is separated into three sections that highlight Baccarat’s different product categories: jewelry, home décor and lighting.

The opening night wasn’t entirely without casualties, however; a crystal glass fell and shattered during the festivities. But the guests gathered all agreed: It must be a sign indicating another 250 successful years for Baccarat. Mazel tov! The sestercentennial anniversary celebration will continue with the forthcoming opening of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York in 2014 (in partnership with Starwood Capital Group and Tribeca Associates).
