Traveling with little ones can be tricky—these accommodations designed with children in mind will help them feel right at home

Ritz Kids at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage

Ritz Kids at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage
Never hear the dreaded “I’m bored!” again when you’re staying at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. The Ritz Kids program provides supervised activities for children ages 5-12 every day but Sundays. Parents can choose between a full day (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or a half-day (either 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.). The full day includes a complete lunch and the half-day provides little ones with a healthy snack.

Rose Buds at Rosewood Mayakoba
Kids get to fully immerse themselves in Mayan culture while enrolled in this program. Just a few of the daily adventures include eco-tours, arts and crafts classes using recycled materials, yoga classes and Spanish and Mayan lessons. Kids and parents alike can enjoy the evening’s themed parties, including a Pirate Night, a Pajama Party and a Mayan Celebration.

Inside The Pierre

Kids@Taj The Children’s Closet at The Pierre
What hasn’t The Pierre thought of? The myriad selection of kid-friendly activities and home away from home comforts includes stocking hotels rooms with a plush penguin (to keep!) and rocking tiger toy, a turndown service of milk, cookies and a picture book, kid-friendly cooking classes and a Mommy & Me Tea. There is also a babysitting service for parental evenings out with sitters that specialize in music, dance, fine art and drama. And pack light if you have an infant—guests can be supplied with everything from a crib and baby bathtub to a Diaper Genie and bottle warmer.

Mini moguls in training ages 3-17 should sign up for this program, which offers personalized business cards, monogrammed robes, custom in-room amenities (think: a candy buffet), beauty treatments at The Spa at Trump and more. Kids can also sign up for a monthly Young Entrepreneurs newsletter highlighting engaging activities going on throughout the city.

Cultured Kids at Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue
Cultured Kids is a set of add-ons combined with the Weekend Family Getaway Package. Guests can tour Chelsea galleries with Little Collectors, a company that helps expose children to contemporary art,  or take afternoon tea (or juice, or hot chocolate) out of bento boxes.

The Arrabelle ice rink

Kids Reign at The Arrabelle, a RockResort
When guests first check in at The Arrabelle, kids pick a favorite snack and a favorite color so they can be treated to a more personalized experience during their stay. For the spa-going child, little ones can try out kid-friendly services at the RockResorts Spa at The Arrabelle, or you can order special bathtime goodies to your room, including a cupcake-shaped bath bomb. For the young adventurer, there is a playground of rope challenges and the Forest Flyer, an alpine roller coaster.
