Los Angeles-based womenswear brand Mother and model Carolyn Murphy will launch a second capsule collection together on International Surfing Day, June 20, benefitting Save The Waves Coalition. The Surf’s Up line utilizes pre- and post-consumer waste to reimagine the surf-inspired classics, primarily made from repurposed deadstock and vintage finds. “The beach, surfing and wanderlust have been a part of my life since I was a young girl,” says Murphy, who surfs regularly. “This collection is a nod to my uncle Bobby, my California lifestyle and the aesthetic of 70s skate and surf culture and everything that I would want to pack.” The well-price capsule collection is available on Mother’s website. “With this second collaboration, we wanted to honor Carolyn’s passion for surf culture and embrace her commitment to protecting our waters,” says Tim Kaeding, Mother’s creative director and co-founder. “We are grateful to be able to support the Save The Waves Coalition in their mission to protect surf ecosystems. After all, summer wouldn’t be the same without the beach.”
