Surf’s Up On Carolyn Murphy

Los Angeles-based womenswear brand Mother[1] and model Carolyn Murphy will launch a second capsule collection[2] together on International Surfing Day, June 20, benefitting Save The Waves Coalition. The Surf’s Up line utilizes pre- and post-consumer waste to reimagine the surf-inspired classics, primarily made from repurposed deadstock and vintage finds. “The beach, surfing and wanderlust have been a part of my life since I was a young girl,” says Murphy, who surfs regularly. “This collection is a nod to my uncle Bobby, my California lifestyle and the aesthetic of 70s skate and surf culture and everything that I would want to pack.” The well-price capsule collection is available on Mother’s website[3]. “With this second collaboration, we wanted to honor Carolyn’s passion for surf culture and embrace her commitment to protecting our waters,” says Tim Kaeding, Mother’s creative director and co-founder. “We are grateful to be able to support the Save The Waves Coalition in their mission to protect surf ecosystems. After all, summer wouldn’t be the same without the beach.”
