Updating a classic property has its challenges, especially one as iconic as The Peninsula Beverly Hills. So when interior design firm Forchielli Glynn was tapped to lead the year-long renovation their goal was simple. “Our direction was to freshen the property while retaining its elegant, discreet, and timeless spirit, explains Cynthia Forchielli and Helen Glynn. “We tried to respect the original DNA of the property.”
The hotel, which remained open during the extensive renovations of its 193 guest rooms, suites and villas, boasts custom-made furnishings from local artisans including Paul Ferrante crystal chandeliers and Mario Grimaldi hand-crafted tables. The highlight of the enhancements are the four specialty suites, each featuring distinct color palettes and styles. All four spacious suites feature fireplaces, advanced flat-screen televisions and come accessorized with a diverse collection of books and personalized decorative touches. The suites also feature sleek contemporary kitchens outfitted with the latest Viking and Sub-Zero appliances to make guests feel at home.
