Bold, eclectic and full of joy, Weekend Max Mara’s newest collaboration is an irreverent and playful combination of shapes, colors and patterns. Designed by stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and photographed by supermodel Gigi Hadid, the Family Affair collection is full of warm-weather staples for women of all ages. The dresses, trousers and scarves combine modern silhouettes with ’70s-inspired prints and patterns, creating a riot of color. “Visual dissonance is really at the heart of a lot of the styling I do—I like when the mind has to work a bit to comprehend what the eyes are seeing,” says Karefa-Johnson. Her main inspiration for the collection is her family, particularly her globe-trotting grandmother. “Style was effortless for her,” she says, “and that’s precisely what I wanted to communicate in this collection—a sense of innate, amazing style with very little effort.”
