Today, e-commerce giant ASOS hatches the Tommy Dorfman-fronted “Together Movement” capsule collection, a collab with LBGTQ-focused media watchdog GLAAD’s eponymous campaign and the latest fashion-backed contribution to the social justice current. The collection, made up of affordable shirts, sweats and accessories starting at $8, is punctuated with normcore-friendly affirmations like “Unity” and rainbow ampersands, the campaign’s logo signifying inclusion of all marginalized groups.
Dorfman, an actor, activist and star of the socially charged anti-bullying Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, appears in the campaign alongside fellow queer denizens like model Richie Shazam and LGBTQ activist Adam Eli. Proceeds from the collection will benefit GLAAD’s efforts to increase LGBTQ representation in media.
At the launch party last night, Dorfman and a cadre of emerging and established LGBTQ icons, from RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage to model Munroe Bergdorf, lit up a sleek mansion overlooking the Hollywood Hills. But with ASOS’s mass-market appeal, you don’t have to be a media insider to look like one.
