With its second year coming up this weekend, Panorama New York City is gearing up to change the playing field on Randall’s Island–literally. With an interactive art space set up dubbed The Lab, powered by HP, festival goers will be able to experience five New York City artist’s work in between checking out sets by Dua Lipa, Janet Jackson and The Killers. The Lab is a hub of digital art set up at the center of the festival grounds, complete with five interactive exhibits. From emotional energy ups and downs to a psychedelic color flow that will take you beyond your physical space, these installations feature music, technology and creation to elevate your festival experience. Plus, The Lab also features a 360-degree virtual reality theater called The Dome. With a capacity of 500 people, this transformative globe will return to Panorama with a contemporary adaptation of a satirical novella by the English schoolmaster Edwin Abbott Abbott, first published in 1884. Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions first premiered at Coachella Music & Arts Festival in 2018 and will show at Panorama’s The Lab this year. Featuring hidden dimensions and a score crafted by artist St. Vincent, attendees will be bathed by spectral colors and sonic beauty.
