Not many neighborhoods in New York receive the kind of love and attention as the Meatpacking District. Home to the High Line and future location of the Whitney Museum, the once desolate meat market is now a sought after destination for fashion, food and art. And while there’s always a chance that you catch Olivier Theyskens at Pastis or spot Helmut Lang’s Michael and Nicole Colovos at the Standard Grill, we’re not taking any chances.
We caught up with some of the area’s most beloved designers at the Meatpacking District Improvement Association (MPIA) first annual fundraiser to hear what makes this a “real neighborhood,” as well as their favorite hotspots. Click through the DuJour gallery to read more.
