Pharrell Williams is no stranger to fashion. The trendsetting musician, who made a splash in his eye-catching Vivienne Westwood chapeau earlier this year at the Grammy Awards, boasts an impressive resume of successful fashion collaborations (Adidas, Uniqlo, Comme des Garçons and Louis Vuitton, to name a few!) and shows no sign of stopping. His latest venture is a playful line of train-inspired bags and scarves with French leather goods purveyor Moynat.
A visit to the Moynat atelier in Paris last October and a look at a train on the label’s vintage trunk is all it took to inspire the fashion-savvy singer to bring the collection to life with help from Moynat Artistic Director Ramesh Nair. The entire Moynat + Pharrell Williams collection dons a locomotive motif—distinct pieces include the Train Pochette, the Train Bag made of hand-tooled acrylic resin, the Train Clutch made of hand-carved ebony wood, as well as silk scarves featuring railroad graphics.
The collection will be available mid-October in Moynat boutiques in Paris and London, and will later become available at the Dover Street Market in New York.
