An Honorary Trip to the White House

The nation’s oldest World War II veteran joined President Obama in the Oval Office and toured the capital city

On Friday, Emma Didlake, the oldest living World War II veteran, was welcomed at the White House for a special meeting with President Obama. The 110-year old veteran—who joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps in 1943—traveled to the nation’s capital from her home in West Bloomfield, MI in a private jet courtesy of Delta Private Jets and Talons Out Honor Flight.

Didlake’s short but fun-filled trip in Washington, DC also included tours of the World War II Memorial, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial.
