Room Request! Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf

A waterfront icon of Bostonian luxury

A five-star establishment, the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf truly captures the essence of luxury. Boston’s only Forbes Five Star waterfront hotel boasts eight floors of 230 newly renovated guest rooms and suites, all of which offer spectacular (panoramic) views of the harbor or city skyline. Guests can choose to indulge in the hotel’s vineyard-to-table Meritage Restaurant + Wine Bar, enjoy delectable seafood on the water at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille or sip on craft cocktails from either Rowes Wharf Bar or The Alley Bar at Rowes Wharf. In addition to this bountiful selection of prime eats, there’s access to a premiere Health Club and Spa and some of Boston’s most beloved sites and attractions within walking distance.

Here, Boston Harbor Hotel General Manager Stephen Johnston offers up details about his favorite and most popular rooms.

The most requested room:

Our Harbor Premiere Room is absolutely the most requested room category.

What makes it so special:

We are the only Forbes Five Star hotel on the Boston waterfront and every single one of the Harbor Premiere Rooms feature the spectacular view of the harbor, making it truly beyond compare! Guests are able to sit in the separated living room, enjoying some of our one-of-a-kind amenities and soaking in the breathtaking views. Additionally, guests seem to really enjoy the luxurious spa bathrooms with dual sinks, marble rain shower and separate tub. I am excited to say that we have introduced new bath amenities into our renovated rooms. We now have Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze products with a bespoke fragrance created exclusively for us by the Italian House La Bottega.

The rate:

Rates start at $720 in summer months and $505 in the winter.

Your personal favorite:

This is a tough one, but if I had to choose, I would say that our Admiral’s Suite overlooking the Boston Harbor is one of my personal favorites.

Admiral’s Suite

Because…

I am hard-pressed to find a better place to relax in the city of Boston. Just thinking about the expansive balcony, stunning views of the waterfront and the harbor breeze is making me take a deep breath right now!

Celebrity guests:

One of the best parts about staying in luxury is that you can be assured that your privacy will be protected, so for that reason I cannot give you exact names. But I will say that the city of Boston is so vibrant and bustling. Downtown Boston and the Seaport Innovation District is a Fortune 500 CEO mecca right now, and our ideal location definitely allows us to see the faces of many of those major decision makers.

Fun fact:

As hard as it is to believe now, for years the Boston Harbor Hotel was considered to be in the wrong part of the city. We were located between a dirty harbor and busy highway. But thanks to the great vision of Norman Leventhal and others, to the Big Dig and the expansive efforts to deliver a clean Boston Harbor, the area around us has blossomed and the city center of Boston has truly shifted. It is exciting to walk around the hotel and see the happenings of Boston—both city side and harbor side—every single day. Just as an example, in the summer we host our Summer in the City Entertainment Series featuring live music Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and movies on Friday. Our guests can fill an entire trip with true Boston experiences all within walking distance!
