Adèle Exarchopoulos
No stranger to the Cannes Film Festival, French actress Adèle Exarchopoulos returned this year to present two movies: the comedy Fumer Fait Tousser by Quentin Dupieux, and Les Cinq Diables by Léa Mysius, which was presented at the Director’s Fortnight.
Vicky Krieps
Vicky Krieps is fast becoming a fixture at the Cannes Film Festival, having attended last year with three films and this year with two films screening in the Un Certain Regard section. The Luxembourgish Krieps was awarded the Best Performance honor for her portrayal of Empress Elisabeth of Austria in Corsage, directed by Marie Kreutzer. Her second film, Emily Atef’s drama, Plus Que Jamais (More Than Ever), also earned the actress a lot of attention.
Tom Sturridge
The Tony-nominated actor was at the Festival to promote Olivier Assayas’ HBO series Irma Vep, in which he stars alongside Alicia Vikander. This August, Sturridge will star in the Netflix series The Sandman, based on Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel.
Scott Speedman
Scott Speedman stars opposite Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart in David Cronenberg’s avant-garde film Crimes of the Future, which made its debut at this year’s festival. The Canadian actor will be seen next in Lena Dunham’s film Sharp Stick, also out this summer.
Harris Dickinson
Actor Harris Dickinson leads this year’s Palme d’Or-winning film, Triangle of Sadness, from Swedish writer/director Ruben Östlund (out in theaters later this year). The English actor will also star in the new adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing (released July 15) and the murder-mystery film See How They Run opposite Sam Rockwell, Adrien Brody and Saoirse Ronan.
Adria Arjona
The Puerto Rican and Guatemalan actress made her debut at the Festival for the world premiere of Olivier Assayas’ HBO series Irma Vep. Arjona most recently starred opposite Jared Leto in Marvel’s Morbius and in the Father of the Bride remake on HBO Max. She’ll be seen later this summer in Disney+’s Star Wars Andor, premiering August 31.
Joe Alwyn
Joe Alwyn stars opposite Margaret Qualley in the romantic thriller Stars at Noon, which won the Festival’s Grand Prix prize, by French film director Claire Denis. The English actor is also co-starring in the Hulu series Conversations with Friends, based on the hit Sally Rooney novel of the same name.
