Spend a weekend in Europe’s most glamorous resort town

There is perhaps no destination in the world that does luxury quite like Monte-Carlo, where blackjack tables have triple-digit spending minimums and jaw-dropping crystal chandeliers descend from the ceiling in every hotel lobby. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see a dozen Maseratis before spotting a single Toyota, and a dozen yachts for every Fiat—which is to say, if you’re looking for an over-the-top weekend getaway, Monte-Carlo is where you’ll find it.
But first: Monte-Carlo or Monaco—which is it? I’ll admit I was confused myself. The commonly asked question has a simple answer: Monaco is the name of the country; Monte-Carlo is the name of district, or neighborhood, within Monaco.
