John Maffei, the executive chef at the Allegria Hotel, is an Italian chef with a passion for authentic Italian foods and integrates that preference into all of the menus he crafts. He has previously served as the executive sous chef at the Mondrian Soho and the Andaz.

Ryan Keough is currently the executive chef at Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Westbury, New York. He has worked at notable restaurants such as Lumiere, Stone house 1854, XO Café, Mill’s Tavern, Coco Pazzo, and Sorbo Restaurant Group, where he served as executive chef. Keough takes an inviting and enjoyable approach to classically inspired Italian dishes, which can be seen in his Chefs & Shorts dish.

Michael Howell, founder of Devour! The Food Film Fest, is a Canadian chef who resides in Nova Scotia. Throughout his 25 year career he has cooked in Chicago, New York, Boston, Detroit, Toronto, and the Bahamas. Chef Howell is also the executive chef at the Green Turtle Club in Abaco Bahamas.

Aidan O’Neal and Jake Leiber from Chez Ma Tante in Brooklyn, New York were introduced by their respective mentors Hugue Dufour of M. Wells and Johnathan Waxman of Barbuto. The pair found common ground in simple and delicious cuisine, delivering an experience focused on the enjoyment of food, drink and good company.

Jansen Chan, Director of Pastry Operations at the International Culinary Center, has worked in Michelin star restaurants across the United States. His desserts have been featured in Food & Wine, Art Culinaire and Baking and Pastry: North America. He will be joined by International Culinary Center’s Professional Pastry Arts Students to create the Chefs & Shorts dessert course, inspired by the film Fruit.
