6:45am Before going to my first shoot, I take a quick walk on the beach in Copacabana. People are already out playing Futevolei (a famous Brazilian game played on the beach—think: volleyball with your feet).

7:00am First shoot is with supermodel and Brazilian beauty Adriana Lima. She takes me to her favorite local shops. We start with bikini browsing (of course) and I learn a few tips: less is more, tan lines are considered sexy in Brazil and it is a faux pas to bring a towel to the beach...your sarong should double as both!

12:00pm Time to shop for Havaianas. Although these are big in the States, the craze started in Brazil in 1962. The store has every pattern/design/trend you can think of, including this design for the Olympics!

5:00pm Happy hour… this may have been one of the most spectacular views I have ever seen. It is tradition here to go to Bar Urca to have a snack and drink by the wall (Mureta). It’s basically a shack on one side of the street. Then, when you walk to the other side, there are fishermen, boats and views you can’t beat. I tried a couple of Caipirinha’s (a famous Brazilian drink) while watching the sunset. It sets around 5:30-6pm here every night… how spectacular is that?!

12:00am Things get started late here. I had never gone Samba dancing before, so I had to put my best foot forward. As a former dancer on CLUB MTV, I think I made my colleagues proud. We went to Trapiche Gamboa, which has been around since 1857, for live music and dancing. So grateful to be here… what an incredible experience! See you on Olympic Zone on NBC! XO
