Twin Lofts consists of two units split in half, where each apartment is almost a mirror image of the other. The artist himself lives on one side, and his good friend Alessandro Sartori, LVMH’S artistic director for Berluti in Paris, lives on the other. "I designed my layout and I showed it to him, and he said, 'I'd like one too!'"

Though identical in floor plan, differences in materials and colors personalize each unit. "Mine is more rough, it's more strong because I used this grey metal in the stairs," says Delrosso, pictured at his counter. "And his apartment, the stairway is completely open. It's metal and glass and white-painted – everything has more light."

"The stairs are very interesting. It's an illusion, like origami," says Delrosso. "The stair became sculptural, the focus point of this project. I like to play with stairs."

"I grew up in Biella, with those hills, and I spent a large part of my life there," says Delrosso of the inspiration behind this home renovation for a family in Italy. "It was very nice, very interesting to create this architecture that reflects the landscaping."

"This was an interesting project, so complicated because it was in the center of Monte Carlo!" says Delrosso, who designed this house for a family in Monaco. "We basically took down everything inside, and recreated everything."

The house, though constrained in size, needed to be functional to accommodate the owners. "The family is a large family, so sometimes they need to seat six and sometimes only three," says Delrosso. "A couple of floors are connected through the main building staircase, so they can enter directly into their bedrooms.

"It's quite difficult, and takes a lot of energy, these residential projects," explains Delrosso, who also designs for restaurants, hotels and other large-scale projects. "You have to be delicate. You have to be a psychologist first, a designer second, and a friend third."
