The Woolpack
Laurie Lee, who was born in Gloucestershire’s Slad, chronicled this historic establishment in his memoirs. The Woolpack has existed for three centuries. It is now owned by artist Dan Chadwick, who welcomes his mates including artist Damien Hirst, with shots of Black Cow Vodka (a milk-based alcohol from England’s West Dorset).
The Swan
The Swan was once an inn for farm workers from the Southrop Manor Estate in Gloucestershire’s Thyme. The customer clientele has evolved since the 1600s though, now welcoming A-listers like actor Jude Law and even model Kate Moss, who has a house in Little Faringdon.
The Kingham Plough
The Kingham Plough has become a second home for the “swishiest” residents in Oxfordshire’s Chipping Norton. David Cameron, Elizabeth Hurley, and Rupert Murdoch have all been spotted around the fires. A. A. Gill once endorsed the menu, which features a Scotch egg and a ‘Tamworth’ pork pie.
The Bull Inn
The Bull Inn in Oxfordshire’s Charlbury is the place for an authentic roast. The Sunday menu features Cotswold beef sirloin, Cotswold lamb shoulder, and Gloucestershire ‘Old Spot’ pork belly. The establishment’s elbow-benders have included Cara Delevingne and Poppy Delevingne, who are close with the owners, Charles and Willow Crossley.
