After years of anticipation, one of Sarasota’s most beloved culinary landmarks is officially on its way back. The iconic The Hob Nob Drive-In is set to reopen in Spring 2026, bringing with it nearly seven decades of nostalgia, comfort food, and community spirit.
The revival is being led by Sarasota resident Troy King, who announced the reopening through social media in partnership with The Breakfast Company and former Hob Nob owner Cary Spicuzza. Spicuzza’s involvement proved essential, as she owns the adjacent property that provides additional parking and a separate building housing extra restrooms, a critical component for the restaurant’s return. The original restaurant site itself includes only about a dozen parking spaces, making the collaboration a true team effort.
When the Hob Nob Drive In reopens, guests can expect a menu rooted in classic drive in tradition. According to announcements and early details, offerings will include smash burgers, crinkle cut fries, onion rings, milkshakes, and a thoughtfully curated beer program that blends familiar national labels with rotating local craft selections. The philosophy remains unchanged from the original era: quality ingredients, approachable prices, and timeless comfort food. As King simply puts it, it is about good food at affordable prices.
Local residents are eager to welcome the institution back. Andrej, a Sarasota local and owner of DME Tuning Florida, shared his enthusiasm for the reopening, calling the Hob Nob “a true Sarasota staple.” He noted that the restaurant represents more than just food, it’s part of the city’s identity, a place where generations gathered for simple, satisfying meals and lasting memories.
With its return slated for Spring 2026, The Hob Nob Drive In is not just reopening a restaurant, it is reviving a piece of Sarasota’s soul.
