Sweet spring wares are getting amped up this season by bold designs that don’t play it safe. When stocking your closet for the coming months, forget pastel florals and think of Bermuda shorts in vibrant colors, edgy knuckle-duster rings and tall gladiator heels instead. It’s all about relaxed sportswear and twists on the familiar, à la Proenza Schouler’s tech-inspired take on the ladylike pencil skirt. Though at first glance they may seem like splurge items, these are the real staples of the blossoming season.
