Last week, Richard Mille released a new haute horlogerie collection for women called the RM 71-01 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman[1] with 10 different variations to choose from. The catch? There will only be five timepieces produced for each variation and will be available exclusively at Richard Mille boutiques worldwide.
At $425,000, each of these sophisticated pieces embody the vitality of the brand and its commitment to the feminine world while incorporating new elements. All grace and sophistication, this women’s watch collection inaugurates the first ever tourbillon movement developed in-house by Richard Mille, the Calibre CRMT1. It incorporates a new automatic mechanism that is slim, ultra-light, ultra-high performance and brings together sparkling diamonds, mother-of-pearl, onyx and black sapphires, proving the consistency of exclusivity.
Cécile Guenat, the Ladies’ Collection Director says, “Nowadays, jewelry and watches can also be talismans. The idea of developing a collection came to me quite quickly while drawing.” Typically, the watch world designs a single casing that is then produced using different stones. This evokes a sense of uniform, but Guenat saw something different in her vision for the RM 71-01 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman. In the sense of haute couture, Guenat believed a diverse collection would create individualized designs and in turn, a strong identity for each.
The RM 71-01 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman captures the vibrant energy in Richard Mille’s embrace of the feminine as well as a mixture of tones, stones and a comparison of technology versus the organic. It’s safe to say that this unique collection is unique to not just Richard Mille designs, but the watch world altogether.
