Actor Pierce Brosnan is one debonair man. Even strolling through the streets of Malibu dressed down in cargo pants and a cotton shirt, he looks as if he’s off for an assignation with a sexy lady spy or an adventure on the open seas. The fact that he is wearing a red gold Speake-Marin Resilience watch only makes him appear even more effortlessly elegant.

For his upcoming thriller, Survivor, Brosnan will be playing a watchmaker who gets caught up in international intrigue. To research this role, he consulted with the equally dashing English watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin, and after working together, Brosnan signed on as a brand ambassador.
Speake-Marin was a consultant for many high-end manufactures until he started his eponymous company in Switzerland in 2002. The Resilience honors the traditions of both British and Swiss horological traditions with classic style signifiers such as heat-blued hands, a baked enamel dial and the crown and shape of Speake-Marin’s signature 42mm Piccadilly case. A handmade, natural alligator leather strap adds a little something extra.
Turn the watch over and the timepiece is all about innovation: A sapphire case displays a hand-finished, self-winding Caliber Vaucher 3002 28 jewel movement. It’s not a super complicated watch, but it definitely demands attention. Brosnan is also a fan Speake-Marin’s passion for art and process of watchmaking—the Resilience is part of the J Class Collection, a line which is designed to evoke the bracing experience of living life on the deck of a racing yacht.
