Eco-friendly fine jewelry designer Monique Péan and Ethopian-born model Liya Kebede have joined forces and launched a three-piece fine jewelry collection inspired by geometric interpretations of the shape of the African continent.
Pieces from the unique collection are comprised of exclusively environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, including 18 carat 100% recycled gold, fossilized walrus ivory (ranging from 10,000 to 150,000 years old), conflict and devastation-free diamonds, and one-of-a-kind sustainable blue sapphire. Proceeds from the sale of the collaborated designs will benefit the Liya Kebede Foundation, which supports maternal, newborn and child healthcare globally with a concentration in Ethiopia.
“Liya Kebede, with her focus on philanthropy and global awareness, is the perfect embodiment of the Monique Péan woman,” said Péan. “It has been an honor to collaborate with her while raising awareness of maternal health issues.”
The pieces are available for purchase at Barneys New York (Madison Avenue) or on moniquepean.com
