On Thursday in L.A., cult Italian sneaker label Superga celebrated it latest launch of bold styles created by the queen of quirk herself, Ms. Leandra Medine. At a luncheon inside Madison at Fred Segal, the Man Repeller, who has been a fan of the label since she was a little girl thanks to her Italian Mom, showed off her designs that include details like velvet and metallic boucle fabric. The go-to high-top and low-top styles have been repurposed in eye-catching gold and silver, with some pairs featuring longer laces so that wearers can mimic Medine’s signature look of tying them up around their ankles. The collection is priced between $125-$160 and will be available at Superga as well as stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Shopbop. For a girl who paired platform kicks with her Marchesa wedding dress—and pulled it off—this collaboration seems like just the right fit.
