Loewe Teams Up With Ken Price

Jonathan Anderson was inspired by American artist Ken Price[1] for his latest Loewe[2] capsule collection. In the early 1980s, Price designed a series of 20 hand-painted ceramic plates for La Palme restaurant in Newport Beach, California[3]. Anderson used this series as his vision for the collection, which consists of an array of ready-to-wear clothing, scarves and handbags, all with a tropical vibe. The artist’s bold, colorful graphics are featured as prints on shirts, sweatshirts, denim trousers and skirts and transformed into intarsia on cashmere cardigans. Similar Price motifs are applied to iconic Loewe handbag silhouettes with hand-pieced leather marquetry and hand-carved bamboo handles.
