As a brand ambassador for Hublot, Miami Heat forward Dwyane Wade not only has access to a candy shop of watches, he’s even been able to design his own personal timepiece for the Swiss manufacturer: The King Power Dwyane Wade.
Still, as he arrived in San Antonio for game one of the NBA Finals, Wade chose to wear the brand’s most iconic watch, The Big Bang. When Hublot introduced the chronograph in 2005, the idea was to fuse different elements—such as rubber and gold for the cases and straps or tungsten paired with PVD in the movements—to create something powerful and new.
Aesthetically, this oversized watch also manages to find a balance between sporty and stylish, as the always-dapper Wade demonstrates here. It appears that he is sporting a Big Bang Ceramic Steel watch, which features a mix of materials like a mat carbon dial, a satin-finished stainless steel case, and rhodium plated markers and hands with white lume. The bezel is composed of black ceramic with Hublot’s distinctive H-shaped titanium screws. And the timekeeper itself is powered by the HUB4100 self-winding movement.
Basically, the Big Bang reinvented the luxury sport watch, just as Wade has reinvented the athlete as a fashion leader. It’s no wonder that the Miami Heat star likes a timepiece that doesn’t cramp his style (sorry, LeBron—we couldn’t resist).
