Sometimes there’s a bag so popular it becomes the “It-bag” of the season. And sometimes there’s a bag so illusive it becomes a thing of pure obsession for fashion’s true elite. This season, Dolce & Gabbana has created the latter. Their new limited edition handbag capsule collection features crocodile bags hand-painted by artisans with Mediterranean flowers, so no two are alike. In fact, they come with their own special label inside to distinguish them.
Depending on the bag, orange blossoms, peonies, roses, hibiscus, bougainvillea, oranges and lemons are depicted by way of individual brushstrokes. The true works of art will be sold in just a few select cities, so it’s probably time to get on the waiting list now.
Below, watch how the bags are made, including the painstaking process of hand-painting each purse.
