From Paris to New York: The Red Sole’s Next Step

Christian Louboutin’s largest shop-in-shop—and first of its kind stateside—opens up at Saks Fifth Avenue

Shoe lovers of New York, rejoice: Christian Louboutin has opened its first U.S. in-store shoe salon at Saks Fifth Avenue.

The luxury shoe brand worked with product design firm 212box on the salon’s interiors, which incorporate elements typical of Christian Louboutin boutiques (think arched niche walls) and a signature red carpet into the unique Saks space. At 1641 square feet, the boutique is one of the largest in the Louboutin empire and will sell handbags, specialty products, and, of course—the iconic red soled shoes.

In celebration of the new boutique, the brand released a video entitled Just a Dream that follows a set of red-sole footprints while they journey from Paris to New York. The Benoit Tetelin-directed short film shows the Eiffel Tower transitioning into Manhattan’s Flatiron Building, and you’ll have to watch (below) to find out what happens as the red soles finish walking up Fifth Avenue.
