Alexander Wang Ties A New Bow At Balenciaga

Accessory DuJour : After months of anticipation, the result – and rave reviews – are finally here

Ever since Nicholas Ghesquiere’s replacement was announced, the fashion world begged the question – would 29-year-old Alexander Wang be able to cut it as the new head designer for Balenciaga? Now as the intimate show in Paris has come and gone, there seems to be an answer to that question – a resounding yes from the small group of editors in attendance, plus a solid thumbs up from fans around the web. And thoughthe refined and beautifully restrained clothes made for major runway moments, there was also love in the details. Mainly, the tiny tribute to Cristóbal Balenciaga and his famous bows, done here with thin, silver metal. It’s a cool, modern moment for a brand that is constantly reinventing itself, both in the fine details and in the men who create them.
