When planning to throw the biggest Fourth of July celebration in the tri-state area, the mayor of Jersey City knew who he had to call: the nightlife duo behind Provocateur, Michael Satsky and Brian Gefter. The two proceeded to plan the 5th annual 50STAR FIRESHOW[1], taking place tomorrow at noon on the Hudson waterfront. The party is expected to double its attendance this year to a cool 200,000; becoming the most populated event for tomorrow’s festivities. “We are excited to partner with Mayor Steven Fulop and Private Internet Access to make this year’s Fourth of July[2] celebration larger than life,” Gefter says. “The 50STAR FIRESHOW will be an unrivaled entertainment experience like no other in the New York Metro Area – this will become the New Year’s Eve ‘Ball Drop’ of the summer, and every summer moving forward.”
The party will feature a variety of food vendors and performing artists; the most notable of which being Snoop Dogg, who is headlining the event and will be playing later on into the night. Other performers include Michael Brun, Bayli and others. However, the venue location and turnout are what will make this another win for the hospitality mavens and Jersey City alike. “Adrian Grenier will be sharing insight with the crowd on his environmental foundation, Lonely Whale,” Gefter adds. “Our location – the Private Internet Access Stage at Exchange Place – couldn’t be more perfect. The views of the city lights, along with the incredible Grucci fireworks display, will be unforgettable.”
The rest of the area seem to agree. In a recent statement, the Mayor of Jersey City, Steven M. Fulop, admitted how thrilled he was to have the event on the West side of the Hudson, saying, “I think the Jersey City side of Hudson River is going to be the place that people want to be for the 4th of July this year. Period. Between Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Grucci, and Snoop; we are raising the bar.”
