Visitors will be flocking to Lower Manhattan this week for the annual Tribeca Film Festival[1], but there’s more than just movies[2] to see.

The views at Battery Park City’s 463-room Conrad New York[3] hotel start as soon as you walk in: The lobby is decorated with a 13-story-high original Sol Lewitt piece, Loopy Doopy, that lets visitors know they’re someplace special—and that’s not something that stops on the ground floor.

“In a city where personal space is a luxury, a standard suite at Conrad New York is an impressive 430 square feet,” explains Hilton Worldwide Luxury Brands executive Stuart Foster.  “All suites offer a living space and a bedroom intuitively separated by a frosted glass sliding panel.”

Here, Foster tells DuJour about the most sought after room in the hotel.

The most in-demand room in the hotel:

“The Superior Riverview Suites.” (pictured right)

What makes it so special?

“The sweeping views of the Hudson are outstanding, especially during sunset. The design of the room is modern, muted and plush—one of the highlights is the contemporary art. The hotel boasts an impressive collection of original artwork by post-World War II modern masters and contemporary artists. Work from Ellsworth Kelly, Lee Friedlander, Georg Baselitz can be found throughout the property’s public spaces and even in the guest suites.”

Celebrity guests:

“Conrad New York has hosted many celebrity guests within the Tribeca Film Festival universe and otherwise. We do, however, respect their privacy and can’t share any names.”

Rate per night:

Around $400 per night.

Your personal favorite:

“Conrad New York’s 700-plus square-foot Premier Suites are another one of my personal favorites.”

In addition to the amenities offered in the Superior Riverview Suites, the Premier Suites also feature a sectional sofa so I can entertain in the living room and a separate deep soaking tub where you can relax at the end of the day.”

Fun Fact:

In homage to Sol DeWitt, Conrad New York named its hugely popular rooftop bar and terrace “Loopy Doopy.” From mid-April through early October, guests and even local residents are invited to enjoy creative cocktails and light bites.
