The vodka martini—the epochal drink-of-choice for many; James Bond, who likes his shaken, not stirred, and Grace Hanson, who likes hers very dry—is an institution. Is there a more classic cocktail? Just by holding its glass, you feel worldly. (I often see myself ordering one, very blasé, in Paris.) It seems almost connotative, if that’s your drink, that you’re cosmopolitan and cultured; a sophisticate, or man-about-town. Perhaps you’re planning on jet-setting to Monaco, or boarding a yacht to Bora Bora.
“There’s nothing more sophisticated or more sexy,” said Grey Goose Global Ambassador Joe McCanta, “than when a person knows exactly how they take their martini cocktail. It’s the mark of a real tastemaker.”
The Grey Goose Vodka Martini, a three-ingredient cocktail, will still lend you that lofty feeling even when served at home. Simply pour the vodka, vermouth, and bitters into a cocktail shaker over ice. Stir (or shake, whichever you choose) and serve in a martini—or coupe—glass.
